Two online IAM memory championships went ahead despite the present global Covid-19 difficulties. Check out the results below.
This October it was great to see athletes continuing to train and compete.
IAM Egypt Open Memory Championship 2020
This online, remote open championship was available in Arabic, English and German languages.
It was a non-ranked national standards event. It was open to Kids, Juniors and Adults and had competitors from 6 countries and 4 continents.
A commendable result was achieved by Rowaa Ashraf, with noteworthy scores in 7 different disciplines that were at national record levels (although un-ranked at this event).
Congratulations to all participants, but in particular:
Top 3 in Egypt:
1st Rowaa Ashraf
2nd Alhouseen Hekal
3rd Sohaila Lotfy
Top 3 overall:
1st Naoki Miwa – Japan
2nd Rowaa Ashraf – Egypt
3rd Alhouseen Hekal – Egypt

IAM in conjunction with ASM (Association des Sports de Memoire) French Memory Championship 2020
This championship was also an online, remote and non-ranked competition.
While still an all French Championship it was geographically diverse, spanning 6 time zones with arbiters in 4 different countries.
Congratulations to the overall winner Florian Manicardi who was best newcomer just last year.
His 5-min images score was a particularly impressive 394, and comparable with scores in the top 10 internationally. In a ranked competition it would have been a new national record (as would his 15-min number score of 480 and his 5-min words score of 88).
Our heartfelt congratulations to all, especially the top 3:
1st Florian Manicardi
2nd Guillaume Petit-Jean
3rd Arnaud Fegueux
Once again, well done to all athletes who participated and to all the hardworking organizers who made the events run smoothly.
