We are back with monthly updates from the IAM Board for July 2019.
- WMC 2019
We are very close to finalizing the WMC 2019 and are awaiting few final confirmations and we expect to be ready for a formal announcement anytime now. Tentatively, it should happen in end of November or start of December. - Staff Updates
Tansel Ali has left the IAM board. The board has appointed Corinna Draschl as a new member to fill his place. - Past tournaments
German Memo Open 2019 was held on 26-27 July in Tuttlingen and witnessed many records. Please visit this page with a nice tournament report by Ben Pridmore for more details. - Upcoming tournaments
The Indian Memory Championship will be held on 2 October, 2019 in Mumbai, India. Please visit the competition page for more details and the events page for a list of all upcoming competitions. - Rankings Update
As of 31 July 2019, Alex Mullen who was ranked 1st in the active rankings has not competed thrice in the past 3 years and has lost his top spot. Congratulations to Munkhshur Narmandakh for being ranked 1st in the world. This is also the first time that a female athlete is leading the world rankings. - IAM Levels
Our Software team has finally integrated the IAM levels into the statistics website. If you visit your competitor page, you’ll see a colored badge showing your level (from 1 to 30). You can also see your IAM Level for each discipline (it appears in bold if it’s included in your best 10). We have published a list of all competitors’ IAM Levels under Rankings > Levels classification (iam-stats.org/levels-classification.php). We hope to add a Levels calculator very soon. - Volunteering and Feedback
We are always open for volunteer applications and feedback. Feel most welcome to write to volunteers@iam-memory.org or info@iam-memory.org or privately contact any board member.
Best wishes to everybody. See you next month.
